WE ARE COMMITTED TO CONDUCTING OUR BUSINESS IN A RESPONSIBLE AND ETHICAL MANNER
Mercuria holds itself to the highest legal, ethical and moral standards. As an extension of this principle,
Mercuria recently signed the Commitment to Adopt and implement the Stakeholder Capitalism Metrics
of the International Business Council of the World Economic Forum(the Commitment). By signing,
Mercuria has committed to work to encourage progress toward a systemic solution for environmental,
social and governance considerations relevant to long-term value creation by reporting on metrics to
demonstrate its progress in these areas. This expresses another way Mercuria is committed to improving
the communities in which it operates.
WE PROTECT THE REPUTATION OF MERCURIA AT ALL TIMES
These Business Principles coupled with the Code of Conduct as a whole ensure that Mercuria goes
beyond just complying with applicable laws, rules and regulations. We challenge ourselves to be excellent
corporate citizens by acting with integrity in our business transactions, and in the communities and the
environment in which we operate.
HEALTH, SAFETY, SECURITY
AND ENVIRONMENTAL (HSSE)
COMMITTEE PRINCIPLES
Mercuria has in place a committee with representatives from its senior leadership that has as its remit
the ongoing review of our activities to ensure our high standards for HSSE are supported throughout
our organization. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the Committee has continued to hold its
meetings on a regular basis. We are also working to strengthen the communication of our progress in
this area to the Mercuria workforce and our asset holdings.
The Mercuria HSSE strategy has three fundamental principles: Mercuria places the value of the welfare of
its employees, contractors, and the general public above all other concerns. We are therefore committed
to ensuring that there is no situation, throughout our business activities, where unacceptable risk to a
person’s well-being is tolerated.

stakeholders, and wider community.
An example of the important work carried out by the HSSE committee, would be the contingency planning
efforts that resulted in Mercuria maintaining the highest possible level of business activity throughout
the pandemic, without compromising the safety of our workforce. Regional meetings take place regularly
to ensure staffing for critical positions, and “bright-line” thresholds are in place, where operations might
need to be suspended, so that safe working procedures are not compromised. Covid-19 continues to affect
business activity differently across the globe, so the HSSE committee works closely with our regional offices,
and with all assets where we have a controlling interest, to maintain safety standards while adhering to
local restrictions. This effort demonstrates the commitment of Mercuria’s leadership to providing a safe and
prosperous working environment for our employees, as well for the communities and environments where
we conduct our business. The work of the HSSE committee is also fundamental to Mercuria’s quest to assist
