Peace, justice and strong institutions
Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development,
provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and
inclusive institutions at all levels.
The UN continues to report that businesses around the world face
obstacles and unfair competition due to corruption which adversely
impacts the sustainable development of national economies. In 2022 we
remained committed to the principles of the WEF’s Partnering Against
Corruption Initiative (PACI). We also continue to be a full member of the Maritime Anti-Corruption
Network (MACN), along with our subsidiary Minerva Bunkering. We are proud to work alongside
other MACN members in the quest to eradicate all forms of maritime corruption and enables fair
trade for the benefit of society at large.
Partnerships for the goals
Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global
partnership for sustainable development.
The UN observes that since the COVID-19 pandemic there have been
severe strains on multilateral and global partnerships. However, during
2022, Mercuria has also been working with various other foundations
and not-for-profits as part of its efforts towards the Agenda 2030 SDGs.
We were proud to participate in the Villars Institute Summit of the Villars
Institute. Several of our employees spoke on subjects as diverse as Navigating the Energy
Landscape, Deploying Trust-Building Technologies and Reshaping the Green Technology Narrative
as part of an event focused on solving the energy trilemma through a systems thinking approach.
